This is our baby.

It is an 8 metre Jackman plate ally hardtop.

We bought it as a welded up skin and finished it as a project for my son (11years) and I, great father and son thing.

Great to fish out of, and still able to be towed around the country when going on holidays.

Like I learnt in those teenage years though, it doesn't matter what you take out, it is what you bring home that counts!!

Hey Seaeagle---That looks a great project! I am sure that when you get it in the water next year you will be as pleased as punch.

May I ask what cost roughly? A mate of mine is hoping to do a similar thing, as he is a little short on $$$$ (as we all are)

seaeagle
04-11-2005, 09:08 PM
thanks ted, it was around $700 in the trading post 2 years ago, a mate bought it and had it in his shed till the new missus had a clean out for him and told him to get rid of it , so i grabbed it from him,
hardest part is getting the motor $3000 is alot to try and save for us.
i gave up the smokes on monday hope by 2007 will have a motor....

Having only fished out of it once (portland) i was happy with it, apart from a few small changes and generally a tidy up of the fit out all i need now is a snapper rack/rod holders and a boarding ladder for when the boys are swimming from it.

Steve may be you can help out with these.

Very nice James. Yes I can help with your requirements. Take some digital photos from different angles and start drawing , when you come up with your final design I will make it for you. I will update my photos shortly and show the Bait board and snapper rack we are now fitting.

speedo clock in just over 100kms after about an hour of hooning around i pulled out the hand lines for a fish, the feeling on the boat was feeling like mabee i was going to be the bait.....
so i learnt dont fish from a ski boat if you plan on taking people out for a ski...lol

The transducer is meant to be in the water. :D

That would make me very nervous watching my pride and joy being lifted down on a pair of forks on a forklift specially if the guy on the fork happened to tilt it forward to much with many of grands worth hitting dry land...

hmmmm scary to me

cheers

I think that is the exact reason we have insurance.

Here is another perspective. Becasue I rarely tow my boat anywhere, I get very nervous seeing it on the road where idiots could run into it. I guess its what yiou are used to.
