I've just found this site (by accident), and it looks great.
Some of you may have seen my name on another site, but for those that don't know me, I'm 57, married (for the second time) with a total of 7 kids, 2 mine, 5 hers. Only 2 of them live at home. My wife doesn't fish at all, although I've tried many times to convert her.
Although I live in Werribee, I fish all over the place. You are just as likely to run into me at Shallow Inlet as you are at Altona!
I was made redundant about 3 years ago and as no-one wants to employ us "old guys", it has meant I can now get out fishing mid-week, when the ramps are less crowded and the weather is always better!
My fishing experience goes back about 50 years, including about 30 years spent as a skindiver/spearfisherman (but please don't hold that against me). I still learn something new every time I'm out with another fisho, so regard myself as "in training".
I fish out of a 3.9mt Stacer with a 28hp Johnston. She's only a little boat, but it makes it easy to tow and launch by myself.
I fish for snapper, redfin and gummies, but the one that really drives me is whiting, my dream is to catch a whiting over 50cms. Best so far is 48cms and I thought that was a thumper!
I'm looking forward to exchanging ideas with everyone and hope to meet some of you in the near future.
Cheers,
Meggsie
