Any of you guys/gals use fireline. If so what do you think of it?
I haven't used it as it appears too wirey which I expect to cause a fair amount of memory.
Wondered if it was popular because of forums/discussions, or whether it was good.
Would be interested in your thoughts.

Gday,
I only usefireline. and I think its great.
Little to nill memory.
I have 4kg on my spinning rod
6kg on medium boat rod (alvey sidecast reel)
30lb on my Penn Reel.
I just love the way you can feel every little nibble and alike. I have a much higher hookup rate now I use it as well.

I think fireline is ok but still i am just a pure Mono man.....
I dont think fireline and braided lines are good in every situation....like fishing around snags for bream etc as it has no stretch in the line your putting unecessary pressure on your rod..
the only time i really like to use it is in deep water as the sense of bite is much greater and Mono doesnt have such sense...
besides really when using these lines such as fireline etc we still use mono
cheers

I have been converted to braid and spiderwire for flicking Sp,s and have just recently tried them with bait in both heavy { gummy} fishing and beach fishing and will have a hard time going back to mono.
You can feel every little touch and my catch rate has improved, its more expensive but I think well worth the outlay.
Ive found very little memory in the braid and none with the spiderwire.

yep forshore on the bite, you do feel alot more action. you can get some tackle shops to "top shot" your reel, i had this done at cranbourne when paul was in the smaller shop, works out heaps cheaper
