Any of you guys use a 2nd anchor to stop your boats from yoring.

It doesn't happen all the time but some times it is just woeful (like last Friday night when sea-breezes were opposing the tide). I've tried tying the anchor rope via the bow rail closer to the stern and all that. Helps a bit but doesn't stop it completely.

Heard of guys using a second anchor but a bit concerned about how this would get in the way when I snag that 15kg snapper. Would hate to lose it snagged around the second anchor rope.

Any suggestions? other than selling the tinnie and buying a 'glassie'

I always thought it was a flat no no from my navy days, but the way Don harrison explains it it makes sense. You need to have one of those rubber things to allow stretch is the y key.

I now use a sea anchor when its blowing be about.
