Gday All

This is just a reminder as an important day is coming apon us.

Please take the time to to buy a poppy on this day to remember those diggers died for us during wars we have had

Also Please take the time to take a minutes silence on the 11 hour on the 11 day of the 11th month...

As there was many of men and women that have fought for our country and do need to be remembered for fighting to defend our nation

1 war that springs to mind that we have forgotten much about is Vietnam war...Many of these people still today have nightmares about this... As this was a war that should never have happened...

The words "least we forget" well we did forget about these soldiers that went to vietnam...Some of these soldiers not only had to fight in a war but when they return to australia Also found some australians turning on them for fighting in a war they were conscripted in by birthdates...

Some of these soldiers didnt even ask or want to go. Also some of these soldiers did a couple tours of duty and once more there tour of duty was longer then of world war 1 and world war 2...

I will stand in a silence for a minute on the 11th day at the 11 hour on the 11th month and will remember every soldier that did battle for us wether it was a cook in the army the or a high ranking officer

they all need to be remembered

Further more we also should remember the nurses and doctors that had to patch the wounded from the brink of death to those with just flesh wounds

Also if you get the chance on the 11th day and the 11th month and pass a pub and see a digger or vietnam vet sitting at the bar. consider just buying them a beer or the drink of their choice as these people defended our country with great pride

cheers
OZ

Truer words never spoken Oz. We have a Vietnam vet at work. I will also pay homage on the allotted day and hour and "dips me lid" to one and all.

i agree with you guys, but dont forget there are troops still out there to think of (and have a beer for)
B4 my grandpa died we always asked him about the wars, he never talked about it to us, 14-15 years old at the time, i would say there would be alot of interesting stories to be heard.

Im an ex service woman I served 16 years in the Royal Australian Army Nursing Corps, my father also did his national service and we have a long line of soldiers in our family so we try to make the 11th of the 11th a family day of remeberance, I attend my RSL for the service and afterwards have a beer with other diggers who have done us proud by giving their all for our very lucky country.
Each year there has been an increase in the younger generation attending services often proudly wearing medals belonging to their grandparents, this is just fantastic to see.
