Hi all,
As a disabled fisho I get a heap of inquiries from others who are disabled or there care givers requesting information re suitable fishing spots, wheel chair access ect, up till now the info requested deals with this side [Mornington peninsula } of the bay , today I recieved an email from a carer of a quadraplegic gent wanting to find a charter / charters on the Western side of the bay that are able to cope with a wheel chair client, from what I have read he is a big gent and due to he,s size he is u***le to use a lifting hoist, he has a motorised chair.
He is a very keen to return to fishing but sitting on a jetty is not he,s thing, he is from Caroline springs.
If any of you know of a charter or someone with a big boat that will get him out on the water can you please let me know asap, Ive put many disabled people onto charters over this side of the bay but know of no one outside of the Peninsula.
Thanks peoples,
Karren

Had a quick Google Karren and the only ones I could find are as follows-:

ACE Fishing Charters

Melbourne Fishing Charters

the other one is www.mpbonline.com.au

You probably know of these charters but that is all I could find at short notice......Sorry :(

Thanks for that info Mado, I have passed it on to the mans carer who also thanks you.
Can you imagine how bloody hard it would be for a guy who was totally addicted to fishing for most of his life and who is now a quadriplegic and dependant on carers for absolutely everything, the logistics involved in getting this gent on a boat for a days fishing are unreal, unlike us who are able to get up, check the weather reports and board a boat with relative ease, he has to organise transport, hoists, ect, and be fully dependant on a carer to assist him with almost every aspect of he,s well being and day to day living.
We just dont know how bloody lucky we are, we take just about everything for granted.
I for one have had a wake up call after getting the email from this mans carer, I will no longer sulk or whinge about needing a wheelchair to get around, unlike this man, Im able to get around very short distances without my wheels, and I am able fish when I please and I need minimal assistance with my day to day living, { and I think ive rambled on enough here,} so thanks again for the info mado. 8)

No problems Karren. Anything to assist someone who is less fortunate in mobility. I hope the info works for him and he has a great days fishing  8) 8)
