Fangvic stands for F.I.S.H.N.E.T. Anglers Network Group Victoria.

It is a club of sorts but without the need to attend meetings: no committees: no dramas: just a bunch of like minded people with similar a common interest in anything fishy, getting together over the internet and on outings (where we can) to enjoy each others company and fishing.

Generally there is a outing planned once a month (with absolutely no obligation to attend) from surf, to fresh to social sinker-making days with a couple of trips over long weekends etc planned throughout the year.

Recent trip was to Toora where one of our group lives. Fished out of Toora and Welshpool over the weekend. Only 3 boats went with 7 Fangers. Small group but a fantastic weekend was had by all.

Members are from all over Victoria and total 60 odd at last count.

If you want some more information send an e-mail to bucaneer@bigpond.net.au Andy is our leader and Manager.

Seaeagle-- To add to Des's remarks--- Aside from Fangvic members being a very helpfull, and terrific bunch of people, there are a number that reside down your way.

An Aside--- When I look up a members profile on this site, I can't seem to find their name!!

Am I having a seniors moment, or is it not in the profile??

Cheers all Ted

No mate, no club but a pretty close knit group of internetters, most of whom keep in reso***ly close contact via the net (as in here)

You will find that a number of Fangvic members, are members here ( out of loyalty to Grant, who is also a fangvic member ) I hope it was ok to say that Grant??

Regular meetups on the water, or via radio on the water. Regular events or trips away without the agendas of a club.

Des (Dekka) gave you the info above, and, as I indicated, there are a number down your way.

You may find that, as this site develops, it will serve the same purpose, as I believe that Grants intention is to have a friendly interactive group of 'netters, whom are full of encouragement, and minus the confrontation that appears elsewhere.

Hope this helps Ted

Thats exactly why I started this. and I have to say it would have fallen in a heap if it was not for Chris.

We are going to have aplannign session soon so we can workout where the site is heading, what we want to get from it and who we want to help.

A planning session is a brilliant idea I believe that this site has all the makings of a very unique group and the potential to fullfill the fishing as well as the social needs of its members.
