The Hawkesbury prawns I buy are frozen but when thawed are as fresh as anything. That is provided I can't get to a bait shop to buy fresh. As for pillies the eyes and texture of the flesh is how I tell when I buy them.

When it comes to SP's I give them a prod and if they spring back I get them as well.
