ozdevils freshwater memories in Tas

just digging through some pictures that i have seen from the day i used to live in tassie and what where a couple of magnificent trips for me back then



1st pic is an Atlantic salmon that weighed in at 6.37kg and which happened to be an Australian record for the Australian National Sportsfishing association under gamefishing... and was cuaght at Meadow bank dam in 1997 Tasmania

2nd pic is a shot of me hooked up to a brown trout in the Macquarie river near Ross in Tasmania.

3rd pic is the fish that i was hooked upto in the above picture it was cuaght on fly on a fur fly...

4th pic is of a sea run brown trout that i cuaght in the Derwent river, Otago Bay on opening night of trout season 1995 the fish went 2.5kgs roughly by memory

5th pic is also of another sea run trout and was cuaght a week later in the the derwent river at Bridgewater in Tasmania

6th pic is of a rainbow trout cuaght in the tyeina river ( just outside of Bushy Park in Tasmania 1996 the fish went just over 1kg

anyway just thought i would share some of my pics as they brought some pleasant memories of my fishing experiences when i lived in Tassie

What fantastic memories Oz, how old were you when you got hooked on fishing, and do you prefere sal****er to sweet water ?

Karren i got hooked on fishing when a friend asked me to go fishing with him during school holidays when i was a kid around 10-11 years of age fishing on the Maquarie wharves in Hobart chasing snotty trevalla...

from then on i enjoyed it but hardly got to go until i was old enough to take myself fishing which woulod have been when i was around 15 yrs of age as none of my family enjoyed fishing and also with my father being a shift worker made it hard

so basically got addicted by my own means and have continued my fine art of fishing till today

Karren i am addicted to both Sal****er and to the sweet water fishing

these days i do tend to miss the freshwater side of things as mainly my fishing these days is sal****er fishing

but when i move next year i will be planning on many trips to the lakes and rivers around victoria chasing a few trout etc

des believe me i was as stunned as that fish mate couldnt wait to hit the sack i was that tired as it was a reaso***ly late night fish that one

as i was fishing the tidal water and want to fish till low water and bit after woulds as the tid was coming in and that night it was around midnit the bottom of the tide

hmmmm i dunno about that kerren it will depend whos boat i am in... and how close we are to trees hahaha :lol: :lol: sorry couldnt hold back on that...

Karren we will have a fish for sure when i finally get to Melbourne next year and i will look forward to that....

Geez Im never gonna live that down am I ? joy keeps using it against me to make me feel like a heal when she wants me to work around the house or when her mother is comming over to soften me up.
I still cant believe she didnt loose an eye that day.
