WORSHIPPERS COMPETITION NUMBER 1

Afternoon all,

I promised some time ago that I would run a competition.

Due to my absolute reluctance to catch a snapper, I am going to ignore the obvious and go for a 1 month, virtual Whiting competition.

I will be puting more details up, however I am very open to suggestions.

The rough guide will be.

Honour is the judge. If you lie and take the prize the fishing gods will come round to your house and beat you with 14 day old Pilchard block.

Prizes (TBD) will be awarded for;

The longest nose to tail fork Whiting
A ruler is required to be in the photo.
Date is required to be set on the digital camera taking the photo

Most caught (number) during total month. A tally will be kept on the website.

You can practice Catch and release, as the photo is all tht is needed. No Whiting to be sent via Australia Post.

The comp will run from 1 January 2006 till Midnight 31 January 2006. Entrants must be in Australia.
And you must be an active member to participate.

An email to compreg@piscatorialworshippers.com is required prior to first catch. All emails with photos must be sent by Midnight 1 Febuary 2006.

Anybody have a better idea.

Yes just give me the prize :D :D . I don't own a digital camera :oops: :oops: But I do like the fish to go for instead of the usual snapper. It gives even the land based fisho a bit of a chance. Although we don't get the whiting as big up here as they are down south(I believe)

Bugger!--- This fishing is starting to get expensive!

I don't own a digital camera either, and it seems I am going to have to buy one along with the bloody expensive more comfortable life jackets.

Maybe you can award me a prize also and save my costs.

when Des and Ant show me the spots on WP in January, they will be able to vouch for my honesty!!!

Being without boat, I think I'll need to visit SA during January. :D
It's the only place I have any luck on the whiting.

One trip down there Salmon Head and you could win 2 competitions(one on another fishing site...not F&^%$t). One for whiting and another for snapper :wink: :wink:

What about if the fish is authenticated by another worshipper?

Never had to before. I am not flying to Melbourne every time I want a fish verified. What happens if no one was home. A wasted trip!!!

Great idea,count me in.
As for weighing in,What about an honor system.It might be old fashoned
but really there are no gains from being dishonest.To win by cheating
gives you first place but shows your short comings.But what satisfaction
do you get from it.

arrrgh thats good that a fellow worshippers will come to us interstate worshippers to verify our catch...

thats good of Grant to pay you fellow victorian worshippers travel expenses to verify us interstate worshippers catch good on ya grant top stuff 8) :P :wink: :lol:

hmmm i can feel a 60cm whiting coming on not only is S.A known for its snapper but we are also known for our big K.G Whiting as well

now all i need to do is just go fishing so i can enter this great comp

Well guys you best give up now cause myself and fishing buddy Lynda have got it in the bag :D , we are the Westernport Whiting gals from way back { well last year that is } :wink: we have caught some ripper whiting last season and are getting set to bring home the big buggers this season.

I have had to comprimise on the rules we agreed slightly so I have two options.

Check it out and let me know what you think. Entrys are to go to the HOT SPOTS forum with a title of COMPETITION ENTRY.

Only had a pathetic 2 entries.

I am included in this. I didnt get out once in Jan. Except my birthday night and then we were on a bloody sunset cruise.

What do you say we extend it untill End of Feb?

I will send the 2 Packs of SP's to the current winner and we will leave the voucher up for grabs.
