I have now spent a small fortune on spinner baits and I have to say I think they suck.

I like the bibbed lures they ding in and plump up some sand like a fleeing yabbue or prawn, the spinners baitsjust steam through the water like a steam train.

I need to spend a session with a hardcore fresho I think.

Anyone in here go tmuch freshwater experience?

Other than throwing a few celta's at trout not alot. Always preferred to bait fish in fresh water.

Well at least your on the right track

Maybe try using different retrieves e.g. jerking/dropping the lure not just winding in or short stroking(short sharp jerks)

Im not much into fresh water fishing or lures till I gave em a go in Tassie , I went to a local tackle shop who told me the Tassie devils were the go , I fished a few streams and after catching some very nice trout I was a convert, but since the Tassie trip Ive not gone near the fresh water.
again.

The Tassie devils are also quite good in the sal****er as well.....as they also make a sal****er series tassie devil but even the tasie originals that are basically suited for the fresh will work....

i have cuaght bream and Aussie salmon on the tassie devil

cheers

Grant,

I have a few freshwater lures that I think will do good on the bream, now that I have some braid on my shimano 1500 baitrunner and rod to match, next time i fish for bream I will give them a go,

I have used wonder wobblers and done well on couta at station pier,. but then couta will go anything

I quite enjoy a coute on light gear, they fight well and make great bait!
