got a question who drives there boat onto the trailer and who gets there feet wet?
i get wet feet....
my trailer has skids, and was thinking about getting rollers so i can drive straight up, its a tough job when your own ya own getting the boat back on.
the tinny was so much easier......

I'll put up with wet feet, better than trying to remove the boat from the roof of the car

I have a drive on trailer and love it. I dont use it much as I dry stack my boat due to space requirements.
You can do it single handed if you are brave enough to get out and leave the motor in gear pushing it up the rollers.
The gadget that allows the ring at front to lock in. I think its called ezi retreive. allows single handed recovery to be done with out having to climb in and out.

I had it well worked out when I had my boat, I would phone Joy and tell her I was about to come in and she would have the trailer on the ramp for me to nose up to it then she get her muscles working and wind the boat onto the trailer, make it safe then drive up to the car park with me still in the boat, we had to do it that way cause my legs dont work so well most of the time  , but now there are floating ramps its made launching and retrieval heaps easier.

Winch up.... no drive on facility
Usually I can walk the trailer and avoid getting my feet wet (very important at this time of year)

Drive on whether alone or not.
Ramps 3 & 4 at Patto make this easy with retaining walls and jetties at the sides.
Launching will have me jumping into the boat from the retaining wall after reversing down the ramp, start motor and place in gear holding weight of boat against the winch support. Get off the boat and undo shackle and winching hook, get back on the boat and reverse/drive to jetty, tie up and then park the car/trailer.
Retrieving has the same in reverse. Drive on up to the winch support, jump out of boat onto retaining wall, around and connect shackle and winch hook. Once secured get back on boat and turn motor off and complete tilt. Easy.
Feet haven't been wet for ages.
Can't do this at Hastings when alone though and have only launched at Stoney Point once, and then I had help.
Only allow peaople to drive/reverse my car/trailer when I am comforatable with their ability. If in doubt I do it myself even though it takes a bit longer.
