Does anybody know where I can see whales either in the bay or from a boat in VIc?

Theres a place up the road in Safety beach with its very own resident whale, if you get there just on feeding time {breakfast } you will be able to see the old whale bringing in the milk for her sultana Bran,
Ive phoned Greenpeace and told em about this whale but because the Mother inlaw whale is not an endagered species they wont drag her out to sea for me.

Took the 2 lads out for a fish in Westernport on Sunday 19/06 and came across a whale and calf heading out the Western Channel. Got no closer than about 200m and have no idea what type they were.

Kids thought it was fantastic......and so did their Dad. First time I have seen them in WP.

You're looking in the wrong spot Grant. They have been heading up north i.e. NSW for a while. Get off your backside and stop giving your much loved members heaps and get up here to check them out before they're gone.

Knowing that I grew up where you live now..... I know there are no Whales in the Georges... for that matter there wasnt any fish either... I used to stand on liverpool (platform 3) train station and stare at the weir below.

Do you ever fish that part of the river.

No Grant even though the Georges has cleaned up heaps I don't fish anywhere near there. They do get some good bream and estuary perch just down from there. I still get off on platform 3 of an arvo.

Only been out in PPB a couple of times over winter, mainly catching salmon for burley and squid. Other than a few weeks ago when we went out off Rye at night for a couple of hours chasing gummies.

Generally just taking the boat for a spin and having some fun with the kids.

The story seems to have been this winter that when I could have gone, the weather was ****............and when I couldn't go it fined up.

Oh well....the reds are not far away..............'On-site' is raring to go and I have built up a massive storage of browny points

I also thought it was a gooden Phil up until Joy saw it and she has promptly put a ban on any and all degrading mother inlaw jokes, quotes and general put downs where her mother is concerned, its ruined all my fun, :( dunno how she has not seen the sticker on the boot of the car that says " mother inlaw compartment ".
Truth be known her mother and I are quite good friends.
