Can one of you guys/gals tell me what the tide variance is for Williamsons Beach please. :?:
If possible, for Venus Bay beaches as well. :?:
Thinking of taking a run down there later this week if time permits.

From the freebie tide chart from Whitwo??ths in Elizabeth Street, (no commercial promotion),
Venus Bay - same time as Port Phillip Heads
Williamstown - +200 minutes.
Now, I may be wrong, but it was Williamsons Beach, wasn't it?
According to the Maritime Gazetteer of Australia
http://www.hydro.gov.au/webapps/jsp/mga/mga.jsp
Feature ID Feature Name Type Group Latitude Longitude Chart
43668 WILLIAMSONS BEACH BCH 20°59'S 149°6'E Aus251
And another thing.
Looking at the card again the tide differences for PPB are,
Queenscliff - +30
Portsea - +80
Sorrento - +130
Hovell - +195
Rosebud - +195
Mornington - +195
Sandringham - +195
So on the eastern side the tide runs fair up the South and inshore Channels then spreads quickly up the Bay, such that Melbourne and Williamstown are only 5 minutes after Rosebud.
On the western side
Queenscliff - +30
Annulus - +50
Swan Island +120
St Leonards - +190
Portarlington - +190
Given that the West Channel is only about 5 miles long, versus 13 for the South Channel, why so long to get up to Portarlington and St Leonards?
I woild have thought the Symonds Channel would move a lot of water into the western side of the bay!
