Have just taken delivery of a couple of penn 550ssg reels I purchased on ebay last week. :D

I wont tell you what I paid for them as someone is bound to say I could have picked them up cheaper elsewhere. Suffice to say I am very happy with the price and they feel grouse (practicing in the garage, anyway).

Like overheads myself but the kids are having problems managing them so the penns are for them.....well when they come out that is.

First Penn reels I have owned but have always heard good things about them. What do you guys think? good or bad.......I can take it.

My fav rig is a Penn 320 GT overhead on a Penn Power stick boat road. spooled up with 30lb braid and backed with 30lb backing.

I love it and NOBODY uses my crane as a like to call it.

Penn are good quality pieces. DO you know they also make the jarvis walker range. Different qaul but same factory.
