Not another GRANT? Blahaha
I'd say the start of Sept they'll begin.
Water temps meeting, PPB bait fish holding. Hope were in for another good season. If not, there's always WP.

I have cleaned the limo, rigged up about 30 rigs
bought new rods, reels, started buying bait when I am at the fish markets. I have silver whiting and some beatiful fresh calamari, in case the squid dont come on. I am predicting fish baits will be best, and not calimari or squid this year.
There is not a great deal of squid about and loads of bait fish. using the old analogy of match the hatch I will have three rods with fish baits and 1 with squid.
Also using wide mouth hooks this year.
what abou the rest of you?

Will make a trip to the market soon, get a load of local pillies, salt them down for about 3hrs, then shake salt off and freeze, the limited time in salt allows for a booming cast from the rocks and pillie dosnt break up whilst sailing through the skys, will get squid, gars, sauries and of course 6 stripies, first trip to mt.martha will yeild some couta early in the morns, if not there they will be at my favourte shark location and will get them whilst waiting for the toothies one night, plan to have my first snapper landbased for the season by mid october, first toothie by mid november.

Well Dave (salmon-king) and i are off for our first Snapper session on Monday in the limo. Then out again on Tuesday.
I went and got some fresh trevally fillets today for bait.
We are heading to Mornington (motoring) it will take about 1hr at 20kts. We will stop for a fish at Mark of the month to start with and creep down from there. Leaving Where ever we are to head north and back to the spoil grounds for some late afternoon Gummy action at a spot Ants Pants gave me last season.
Then Tuesday we are heading out again to fish the other side of the bay to go to Corio. Looking for some info on this side of the baty so any help taken.
Targets for these trips are Coota for bait, Snapper and gummies at the end of each day at the spoil ground.
Cant wait, I have rods and reels ready. Just need to fill the boat and we are away, I am taking my Father in law with us (nickname: Jelly belly) he lives in the country and olny gets to fish when he comes down.
Cant wait!
Anybody want to meetup on either day?

I always get pumped up before a boat fish. Cant wait.
I'll bring some of my frozen squid stock to try out.
And my camera this time, so we can post up the action when we get back.
Wind should stir things up for us this week.
I've sent out a few e-mails for recommended spots in Corio, but if anyone else can help...

Have already salted my pillies, have several frozen calamari recently caught and also some salmon fillets taken recently.
Burley cartridges have been made and a couple of new rods and reels are at the ready.
Will also be heading out whenever I can in the coming weeks to stock up on squid and gars and play a bit more with my sounder. Just need the wind to die down a bit.
Might struggle to get out next week as I'm off to the Tambo for 4 days from Thursday.

Gramma scholl lagoon and it's entrance is quite close to N.S.Rocks.
We should have a good sound around there Tuesday.

Monday
Northerly wind of 15 to 20 knots reaching 25 knots at first before tending
northwest to westerly and easing to around 15 knots during the day. Waves to
around 1 metre decreasing to less than a metre.
Tuesday
Northwesterly wind of 15 to 20 knots tending west to southwesterly and easing to
10 to 15 knots. Waves up to 1 metre.
Might be better to trailer it to geelong, Chris where can i put in down there?
Rules out the long haul trip to mornington, we will have to keep a close eye on it.
