Recently purchased a contraption that attaches to the front of the boat to allow solo launches and retrievals.
Have never had a problem at Patto, but other ramps are a pain to launch/retrieve on your own. Always have to wait for the lane closest to the jetty to be cleared and in peak times this is a pain.
Will take a photo of it and post it here when completed. A bit expensive but appears to be a better unit than what I have seen in the past at boat shows etc.

Used it for the first time down at the Tambo on the weekend. Needs some adjustment to work correctly on retrieving, but worked a treat when launching.
Deckie didn't even need to get out of the vehicle when launching.
Will take the camera home tonight Grant and post piccies tomorrow.

Now the adjustments have been made it works a treat. Does tend to create a bit of interest at the ramp.

Thanks for that James
Only 2 things influence the effectiveness of this contraption. Having the boat/trailer too far in the water (like Sunday) and forgetting to switch the lever over once the hook has taken the weight of the boat (whilst launching).
Both human error. I purchased mine at JV for around $300.00 but my brother made one up himself for nicks just about. Doesn't look as pretty as mine but works all the same.
My forte is timber so when it comes to metal thingies I tend to just buy them.
