Not sure if this has been raised,

my most memerable fish fighting experience happend back in 2003 on the tankerton jetty westernport,

1am, hooked in very large toothie, had to cut wire on cyclone fence seperating falling section of peir from safe section to pass rod through, had to do that 3 times during the fight, shark also went around post markers but lucky for us it came back the same way, had shark in eye sight from pier about 20ft out just below surface, body length estimated to be approx 12ft,

5:30am, shark swam along pier, had to pass rod through fence again, only to have it swim under the peir and result was cut-off,

4.5hrs of hard yakka on 15kg only yo lose the battle.

it was fun though.

would like to here of some other tussles with the swimming variety

Dave, the only tussle I have is with 'Hurricane' about the amount of time I spend fishing, reading fishing magazines, reading fishing books, watching fishing shows, watching fishing DVD's, making rigs up, re-spooling reels, packing and then re-packing gear in boat and generally sitting in boat in driveway day-dreaming.

Also has an issue now and again about me and my clothes smelling of fish and the amount of time I spend on this site (at home).

No tussle on the water compares with this

Des.
So glad to hear that Im not the only one who gets an ear bashing over the amount of time I dedicate to everything fishing, from preperation through to my smelly clothes and even reading fishing mags.
When she gets a bit narky over it I just have to go into a big sulk and make a mess trying to be helpfull around the place , she soon gets jack of me and tells me to go fishing.

Kaz

Half your luck Kaz, I get told where to go, but it's generally NOT fishing.

As for the smell of fishing clothes, I to cop it, more so after a night of sharking, car stinks for days if we get one, but I do a wash as soon as i get home, but she still says they stink and has to do them again,
