I just want to share what I have learnt through research of fishing mags and DVD's on this topic. Hopefully a thread will build to keep coming back to.

Once again this is the bringing together of loads of different sources, so they may conflict in some parts.

• Always fish the current facing side of the structure being fished.
• If drifting, cast in the direction the boat is drifting let it sink to the bottom and then every 10 seconds give two sharp flicks of your rod head.
• Reel in the slack so you still have a belly in the line, repeat this till you are fishing under the boat and start again.
• The belly in your line lets the fish run a bit before setting the hook
• Strike at any movement in the line.
• Use 3-4" Shads or Swimmers.

I am yet to get a decent red on bait or SP, but I have to say it HAS to be close.

How do you guys / gals do snapper on SP.

Im going to try snapper on plastics on my next fishing trip sometime in the next week.
Ive caught pinkies on plastics in the past which are a lot of fun and have purchased some jigs ready to try on snapper so I will let you know how they go.
Dont the professionals make it look so easy ?

its all so differant..... everyone has there own method....
one thing id suggest,
when you cast out let it sit for ten seconds then just lift ya rod a little then tighten lines and do it again, theres not much striking needed as they grab it hard.....
just my findings....and not all work, i have my favorites...

Haven't really tried them that much although I have an assortment in my tackle box.

Use them at Mallacoota drifting for flatties with limited success and used them the first day at Tambo this year with no success. Returned to bait the following day and went okay so the SP's were archived.
