Forgot to mention in my fishing report for last Sunday. Remembered this today whilst talking to my mate who came out with me.

Whilst he caught the flappers outside Lysaghts in WP, I, fishing from the other side of the boat caught none. Apart from the bait, him fishing predominantly with salmon fillets and me with squid, I had a dropper from the ezy-rig down to the sinker of about 500-600mm. Dave fished with the sinker direct to the ezy-rig.

My belief is that the dropper kept the bait off the deck and over the flappers as they scrummage along the bottom. That's the theory anyway.

If I have a problem with the sealice, I attatch a wine cork to leader to keep it of the bottom, it works a treat, i know I can leave a bait out for a long time, only use it on one outfit as i fish with 3, I like to keep the baits moving on the other 2.

If I have a problem with the sealice,
You poor bugger Dave, wouldnt ya think that in this day and age there would be a better cure than a cork for that, :( try using calomine lotion and try not to scratch

I reckon it proves that rays prefer salmon fillets to squid.

I reckon you're spot on there Steve. It happened too many times to be a coincidence.
