G'day skoonah,
there are loads of stocked lakes and alike and you have the bay not too far away.
if you look on http://www.dpi.vic.gov.au/DPI/nrenfaq.nsf/childdocs/-B43DB2A1BECEB2A04A256812001DD817?open
you will find loads of places to fish if you cant get to the shores of the bay.
and dont forget you need a fishing licence!

Gday Mate
i have also just recently moved from Adelaide to Melbourne and i have as much idea as you of where to go in Melbourne...
All these guys know is how to catch ruggas (snapper in the terms of victorians)
but skoonah you might want to try Newlands reserve which s about an 90 minutes of melbourne... as there is some water still in there but is not at full comacity but worth a shot i was there about 3 weeks ago..
close to town you will have to ask these buggas that
cheers

I reckon that There is a snapper conspiracy going on out on PPB everyone says they are everywhere but I cant find em for the life of me, maybe its the red boat ? Im off to westernport.

Rosebud is a nice place, the camp grounds are top class and the fishing is normally pretty hot, plenty of flatties and if you are luckier than me you have a great chance at getting onto some nice snapper, Mt Matha is a good snapper spot and a beautifull drive both on the water and by road.
If you need any info just pm me or call my mobile on 0425803763 am only to willing to help where I can.

hey skoonah,
if you are fishing landbased rosebud way etc, any info just ask, have been fishing there since i was 14, 34yrs in all, the bronzie you see to your left is one of many that we have caught from the pier, with the camping along there, you have to book early, most of the campers have been going there since they were born, they book years aheqad and pass on spots to family, good luck in getting something along the beach.
