I`m working with triman and we are working away at quite a few ramps. We hope to do most of the popular ones in both ppb and wp but they do take a bit of time to do.
Didnt know where you wanted it put so just posted it here

Cheers rick

Excellent report. I have heard that there are submerged shopping trolleys in the creek cos a mate of mine actually dinged his prop. He says it's a tidal proposition here cos at low tide it's pretty shallow. Think I will avoid this ramp as it sounds too dicy.

I'm curious - I was also told that apart from the many hidden submerged dangers, the water quality is pretty poor and there is danger of engine and prop fouling. has anyone experienced that?

great report by the way. top detail and the photos are great.

Guys, I havent launched out of there for 5 years but live only 2 minutes away.I have friends who launch from there and havent done any damage or had problems with water quality. With it being shallow at low tides I`d suggest that maybe the engine was trimed way to low as it is quite shallow
Cheers Rick

With the apparent poor water quality there, I certainly would not eat anything that came out from it.

Blokes and bloketttes, I have 4 ramp reports, covering Werribee South, the Warmies, portland and Port Fairy, based on the same template KR used.
I'll put them up here shortly.

Guys ITS a ramp review.ITS not about water quailty or whatever?
If there is a problem with water quailty lets post the report so as we can all have a read of it and then write to the local member (who is Ann Kathleen Corcoran )and ask her questions about why its like that and when will it be fixed
Problem solved

sorry KR but I would have thought that water quality and submerged dangers were also part of a ramp review. if the ramp is great but your boat is likely to get damaged or you or your kids could get sick from stuff in the water, I would want to know. it is not to criticise - far from it - from my prespective it is just to add the icing on the cake of completeness.

I think these reports are great! I wish I had taken pictures of the ramps I have used so I can contribute:(

Agreed... I have a 17ft half-cabin with needs half a meter of water to comfortably navigate. It's no good having a great ramp and facilities if you can't get your boat to the bay. Would love to see comments on water depth at low tide (which is important particularly for bigger boats). Other than that, this is a great synopsis.

I've launched at Mordi twice in the last two weeks. I like it, but I also have an electric motor. I launched on dead low tide the other day (0.18) and I don't think it would've been enough water for an outboard. furuno didn't even register a depth, so it was below 60cms, and there wasn't much room to move as the mud banks were large. Coming back it was high tide and I had to duck to get under the bridges. Seriously, I stand to drive my polycraft and my feet would be below water level in the bottom of the boat, but I still had to duck.

Shame it's $8 to launch/park now. I think maybe Patto is a better option for getting to ricketts.

We should catch up and have a chat. Nowdays i dont launch from there and havent for about 6 years, but go past the ramp most days.

Not much has changed in terms of water flows etc and the shopping trollies

We have moved out of mordialloc after 20 years but a mate of mine still fishers the creek for bream etc so i have a knowledge of the going on

I have a 17ft boat and we expect (if I wasnt a member of a club with ramps) I would still use the ramps.
Pompies ramps are ok as well

Really as a guy who gets to see alot of guys using the area. Most have no idea of the area and whilst we all expect that we launch into plenty of water and Blah, blah, the facts are a bit different.

I`m lucky or fortunate as i launch from bmys and have for the best part of 40 years fished from mordy to sandy.

Has the new bridge made it any easier to get out into the bay not only trolleys under bridge but a few Bimini's and antenna tips
AB
Its a lot like Merrimbula cant get under bridge at high tide cant get out at low tide
