In a masterful piece of understatement a notice has been posted about the current flood drama in the Gippsland Lakes.
Here it is in full, posted for those of you thinking o going down there for the school holidays

PORT OF GIPPSLAND LAKES
EXTREME FLOODING IN THE GIPPSLAND LAKES AND ADJACENT RIVERS
DATE: With immediate effect.
DETAILS: Due to extreme flooding in the Gippsland Lakes and adjacent rivers,
extremely dangerous water flow may be experienced in the Lakes Entrance bars, channels and waterways.
Mariners and the boating community are advised to exercise extreme care when operating in these areas as water levels and current strength are most unpredictable during this emergency period.
