Hi all,
for those of you who do not check date as aoften as you should, its the perfect time to check the following;
Dates on flares
Battery in Eprib
Fluid levels in batteries
Spare fuses
Spare bulbs for Nav lights
Bucket with lanyard
Fire extinguisher date
Date for service on infatlable life jackets
Battery in torches
Fuel lines for sign of cracking or wear
Radio ariel cables (wear an tear)
This is not complete, but a good starting point. Any others to make a complete list.

Ive got quite a few old flares that I really should get rid of, do I hand them in somewhere ie fire station, what do you guys do with your out of date flares ?
Kaz
Kazz, I am pretty sure that you can hand them in at the local police station, guess I should get rid of my old ones as well.

Kaz, take them to the soccer, I'm sure you will get a good price for them, the red ones seem to be very popular I'm told!!!!!!
Don't!!!!!!!!!!

gday Kaz
grt1 is spot on take them to your nearest police station and have them take them of ya hands and dispose of them
but i have heard of police staions not taking old flares either but i do believe they can not refuse them
Oh Just a word of warning to all that do keep out of date flares
a couple of years ago i went to a flare demonstration in South Australia and a mate i was with at this event happened to get flare that was just out of date and instead of burning from the top of the flare it burnt from the bottom and nearly gave severe burns to him
flares are pretty dangerous and cn be leathal if not used and checked regularly specially outdated flares...
always carry flares that are indate as also keep your old flares and dispose of them the next time you have to update ya flares
cheers
