Im after one of the old fashion barometers that were around in the 70s and 80s, the wooden plaque varriety with the Barometer and thermometer ect, if I could get hold of 2 it would be great as the son inlaw is also looking for one.
If you have one laying around that you no longer use please let me know as Ive looked on ebay ect and so far had no luck finding the one im after.
Thanks

I had one Kaz and it was great, you can pick them up from the large jewellery shops,

They are great Dave, I think the older ones are far better quality than the plastic ones you get today, Ive had a look in the larger shops and they want an arm and leg for them so Im gonna hang out for a cheaper second hand unit. I have a plastic more modern one but it doesnt have the same character that Im after in an older unit.

depends how much you want to spend, I think you can pick a wooden one up for around$150 at the max, or wait for sales

150 bucks would have been ok with me but Joy dragged me to go look at new lounge and dinning room furniture last night, she asked me if I liked it and when I replied with a yes her reply was then " Im so glad you like it cause we now own a new lounge suit, matching dinning table and chairs, entertainment and display units x 3 and coffee table.
And heres me trying to save the dollars by looking for a secondhand barometer,
I will never ever say the Y word {yes} to her again.

Kaz, give australia post shop a try as they had on sale for around $20 a weather station and I think it was similar to what you are after just a bit smaller than what you are after. Might be a better option after the couch.

Hi Kaz, compliments of the season...perhaps you should convince Joy that a barometer is "furnishings" and should be a joint effort!! Got me a Tide Clock from the big Ho Ho man - would be interested to get any feedback - if anyone has any. Can't set it up until the next new moon (Jan 8th) and keep looking at it thinking "do you really work???" Maybe someone can help me get positive about the thing....
