had it custom made when i was working in nowra about 10years ago.
all top notch materials with the split grip/butt and cost me $350.
weighs about 150gm.
i use it to cast anything from pillies to metals off the nsw rocks and surf for bonito, salmon, tailor and anything in between.
being a fairly light set up 3-6kg, a decent fish will give me some curry but in general it is a nice setup/feel.
i have since bought many other rods but everytime i pick that one up it brings a new sensation to my fishing.

I have a Butterworth Rocket 12ft 1 piece which I have had for 27yrs which I use with an ABU 12 and also a Dawia GS9 both reels I have had for the same length of time, still use them,

I also have 2 original Jarvis walker Kilcunda surf rods, 12ft, brown, I have had them for 34yrs, they were given to me by my brother in law, who purchased them new and he had them for 15yrs, no longer used but they are still looked after and kept dust free.

MacKenzie reckons it is the outfit that caught his latest fish.
For me it is an old wooden tackle box that my grandfather had and a few of his rods, no longer used-all these will go to the boys later.

In the ideal world a block of REB. Realistically, a Daiwa 30lb International overhead rod/reel I picked up in Kuala Lumpur about 20 years ago. About due for redoing of the bindings, but well balanced and it's caught some serious fish.

I cant decide on any one piece I like more than the other but I must admitt I do enjoy my Penn gear . I have 5 game outfits all fairly newish but I seem to favor my 15 year old Penn rod and overhead reel more than the others.

my bent wire in a handle undersize flatty hook remover thingy!!!!....got a new one in my new tackle box for my birthday sunday after my old one went swimming when i did the old wrist flick and spin move on yet another u/size bugger and watched both the flatty and my little gizmo take a swim, me standing there glaring at the water muttering obcenities and asking if the little brat could please kindly return my anti-spiking tool, been spiked at least 5 times since then and i swear to god i was more excited about the new one than any other pressie!...got some bizarre looks from the family over that one hehe

cheers

Can't decide so I'll list two..
between my nitro magnum butt + daiwa tierra which I use for snapper softplastics fishing, the nitro's an absalutely awesome rod.

also a Shimano tyrnos 30 and a tyrnos t-curve, I haven't used this one much because it's it's fairly new but from what i've seen it's a ripper, I used to have a tld25 on a custom rod which was stolen:mad: but I like my new setup better.

I have lots of favourite fishing gear , I still have my very first fishing reel that I got when I was 5 . I still have an original Aeroplane Spinner that my dad had and used when he was a pro fisherman. Very hard to choose but I suppose it would be my Daiwa Millionaire 6 HM that I caught my first Barra on ( 32 lb ) was a very special day.

Cheers
