Just saw abit on ALDI shops on C.A,

I was fishing Williamstown the other week and one chap there had his torch on, has to be the brightest torch I have ever seen, I thought the one I had when doing security work was bright but this thing was like a spot light and lit the water up that bright you could see it like it was daylight.

He told me where got it, ALDI,

Well I purchased one last wek, its not much bigger than a dolphin torch, it recharges using A.C and you can also recharge using your car cig lighter, has a 55 wat hallegon globe, For the mere cost of $24 I think its well worth it.

The Brandis Delta, comes with full 12 month warenty.

I was given a new spotlight torch last week as a gift for my work with a young guy and its a real beauty its also from Aldi, its 3,000,000 candle power rechargable professional work light and power station and is sposed to be visable for up to 3 miles, its brand is Zone motto.
It will be fantastic in the boat and even better for camping .
Its by far the brightest torch Ive ever seen.

Aldi - the new supermarket on the block. German owned, keeps a very limited range of brands on the shelves but, in the case of Werribee, the staff and entire organisation is exceptional. They also pioneered unit pricing on the shelves.
Their weekly flyer often has some seriously good specials. There should be one somewhere near you if you are in Melbourne, and I think there are a couple of regional ones too.

Cheers Triman,
I think there's one up the road on Bell Street.
I'll check it out tonight.

Salmonhead I dunno where you are situated but theres an Aldi in Rosebud.
I actually had the chance during a black out last night to test my new light and after leaving it on for 3 hours it held its charge and did not dull at all unlike other torches Ive had in the past so Im very happy with it.

I also bought a fishing hat off ebay a couple of weeks back with a sewn in light in the peak which is also very bright more so than the head torches Ive been using, I only paid 5 bucks for it from bluewater fishing downunder , I used it at the Powlet river and it did the job very well.

I forgot to mention that this spottie comes with a compartment undernieth that houses a 4 metre A C power charger and a 3.66 metre 12 volt D C lead that plugs into a lighter socket in the work station and the other end into the torch so that you can remove the torch from the power pack by using the adjustable knobs you can adjust the light at differant angles.
Thats it for my sales pitch, but it really is a beauty.

That's the one I just picked up.
Aldi's not 5 min from home. Corner Bell & Orial rd's.
Charging now so Jack and I can test it in the park tonight.
Thanks Kazz.

are they built tough? I've had plenty of bright torches and lots of tough ones but rarely are they bright AND tough. I might have to have a look.
Cheers,
Andrew.

It's excellent Kazz.

I remember a couple of years back sitting at the old Cannon's creek jetty, and
being blinded from miles away by some dude that was walking his dog.
Cursed the cr@p out of the torch dazeing me, after they left, but in the back
of my mind I was thinking "I must get one of those".

Gummy, the one Kazz and I got is the 'Zone moto'. Big and yellow. Good grip, sturdy seater bar and yellow plastic.
I wouldn't drop it from a great hight, but tough enough.

I bought the Delta torch last night and it is extremely bright. I switched off all the lights and it lit the whole room up. It generates quite a bit of heat and the instructions say not to run it for more than 25 mins. Could be an advantage in winter though to get a bit of feeling back in your fingers on cold nights.

For $24 you can't go wrong. How long does the batterie last between charges? A mate has a similar thing but he paid about $50 odd for it.

It didn't last long sat night probably around 25-30 mins. Not bad for 55 watts I suppose, I think that's the power of a car headlamp on full beam.

That would be about the same as my mates torch lasts for. We only switch it on when needed and use another torch or our headlamps for the rest of the time. Very handy when landing fish on the beach at night.

It does say not to have on for periods longer than 20mins, If I need a light to see for a long period of time I have a good head light.

I was switching it on and off as required and I estimated the total time it was usable for.

I must get myself one of those headlamp thingies...

Will be interesting to know how long they keep charged for, I charged mine when I purchased it, and that was before I started this topic, I wont charge it till it goes flat and will keep you informed.

If yours only lasted what you consider an estimated 25mins, I would consider taking it back and saying its faulty, it does come with a 12 month warenty.

Should be fairly easy to work out roughly how long the torch should last as long as you know what size battery is in the torch. Just use a simple formula.
I=W/V
