Hi everyone,
We are looking at buying a hand held GPS and we are after any info that may be available. We mainly hire boats and with the wealth of info regarding GPS marks in the bays I thought that these systems might save a fair bit of time in locating the prime spots to catch a few.
Any thoughts-
Mark.
Kenzie, have a look at the Fish-bay Classifieds thread and have a look for Kazz's and Neil's questions on the same thing. Another thing to consider is the price of the software to go with the gps and the different functions that the gps offers. Do a seach on memory-map. It is some mapping software that I was looking at the boat show that allows you to do a heap of things including printing out of maps with gps positions and you can upload and download to different types of gps. I am just waiting for the fishing show to see it on sale again and I am going to get a copy.

I had a Garmin GPS12 and found it very easy to use , since getting the new boat I again needed a GPS. This time I have gone for the Garmin 72 , easy to use and being Garmin a good reputation. I got it off ebay brand new delivered to my door for $162. I also bought the duel lead for power from cigarette lighter socket and also hooks into the computer for upload download of waypoints on to things like mapsource
Cheers
