I was watching Hooked today and they were using balls of Power bait on trout at Jinderbine with great success, have any of you guys used it and what are yr thoughts on it ? I thought it might be a good option to try on my Tassie fishing trip.

Yep thats the stuff Dave, might have to give it a test run on the red fin and carp at the local dam.

Powerbait works well, I have used it in numerous places and done well on Rainbows. Usually around $10.00 a jar and there are several different colours. Have used it on running sinker rigs, floats and fixed sinker rigs and had success on them all.
I ten to use around half a piece and sometimes add a worm or two on the hook.

Mark.

How to rig it was gonna be my next question so thanks Mark, is any one colour better than the other or do you find it a bit like using SPs. ?

Reading replies, I have used it before, many years back, can only recall it comming in packets wrapped in silver, had success with trout in the goulburn, I can recall it works better in flowing streams rather than still water dams,

I tend to have a light and a dark colour in my tackle bag so as to cover the circumstances on the day.
