Fished a location of mine at the weekend for some toothie critters, had 3 trips there this season with 3 toothies landed.
9:30pm whilst haveing a snooze (much needed after finishing night shift and and having 3hrs sleep for the day) was woken by my favourite alarm, sound of a screaming reel, line peeling off at a rapid rate.
Hooked, felt like an oversize toothie, suspect a bronzie, after 2 long hrs on 15kg standup tackle, creature was approx 50mtrs from pier, still unsighted but having all the charictorstics of a bronzie.
Then the inevitable happen, a one piece rod became a 2 piece rod, broke 20"from the tip.
Has this happened to anyone else.
