This is a low tide fishing platform. Get there 2-3 hours before low tide. Line up from the lookout at the end of the path and the small island east of French Island.
The platform is about 4-6ft under water at high tide, as the tide runs out, all the baitfish seeking refuge there, and shell food wash over the edge.
Loads of preditors pass this point on the run out tide.
It does not fish as well after the tide turns to come in.
Box californian squid has probably done the most damage there, with a couple of mulloway being picked up in the last few years.
Salmon-Heads Diary tells us.. "It fishes better for snapper later, Jan-April."
Although this year it was slow down there. Should have a good chance at a gummy there at the moment.
