• Sydney Harbour Bream and Mullet are on!

Although the sea temp is still high in Sydney (23*C),the annual mullet & Bream runs to sea are just about to start. Schools of these fish are in the lower reaches of Syndey Harbour and some are quite gravid with eggs.

Since the pros were banned these annual runs have been increased, although they still try to target them outside the Heads.

The early start to these runs may be due to the massive bait schools that have been feeding on the run-off from the rains of the last 2 months, these algal rich waters have been giving the Mullet lots of food and the smaller bait fish food for Bream.
